Successful Debut for LA Racing at new AASA Series NSW Production Cars

The LA Racing sponsored HSV GTO Coupe #71 from Cary Morsink had a successful debut at the new Production Cars category run under AASA rules on Hankook control tyres 3rd October 2020.

With a starting field of 24 cars for the new category, combining production 3E class cars and the production based BMW E36 series cars, car 71 qualified 5th overall.

Race 1 saw some incidents at the pointy end of the field, with two competitors failing to finish, allowing Car 71 to finish a strong 4th.

Race 2 was a tight race between the top 5 competitors, with car 71 starting from 4th, making consistent laps times and applying pressure lap after lap, eventually passing another two cars to end up second outright.

Race 3, starting from second on the grid on the outside, car 71 had a great launch of the line, taking the lead of the race on the outside running into turn 2 and up the hill. Unfortunately the lead was short as the VF Commodore from Virag Racing pulled out onto the straight, with both cars side by side down the entire length of the straight, through turns 1 & 2, and back up the hill, with car 71 having to relinquish the position on the outside at the end of the run up the hill to turn 3.

Whilst the overall win would have been a great ending to the weekend, another 2nd outright was well received and showed again the consistency of the car and LA Racing products.
