LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil SERIES (CGE) incorporates highly refined and thermally stable HYDRO-SYN® base oils, with specially selected supplements that provide increased load carrying capacity to protect gears, bushes and bearings against scuffing and wear during severe operating conditions of high temperature and load.

The stay-in-grade viscosity and advanced formulation chemistry provides excellent protection in both conventional and epicyclic gear trains, enhancing equipment reliability, performance and gear shifting characteristics.

LubeAlloy GCE Series incorporates a special foam suppressant and provides excellent frictional properties for a wide variety of clutch and band lining friction materials used in many overdrives and ‘pre-selector’ transmissions.

Unlike many ‘modern’ gear oils, this unique combination of specially selected HYDRO-SYN® base oils and performance additives, maintains chemical and mechanical compatibility with ‘old style’ sealing technologies and gearbox designs, assisting to keep oil leakage to a minimum.


CGE-30

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil CGE-30 is ideal for use in many classic vehicles where the manufacturers originally specified SAE 30 engine oils for gearbox applications. During the 1950’s and 1960’s this specification was particularly common in British makes including Jaguar, Austin Healey and MG.

Before 1940 this specification was particularly common in British makes as well as being specified for exotic European makes during the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s.

CLASSIC CGE-250

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil VG-250 is ideal for use in many veteran and vintage vehicles where the manufacturers originally specified SAE 250, 600W or heavy steam cylinder oils for gearbox, transaxle or final drive applications. VG-250 is suitable for applications incorporating spur gears, worm drives and bevel gear sets commonly used in these early transmissions.

This product is not suitable for limited slip differentials or heavily loaded hypoid differentials or transmissions requiring API GL-4, GL-5 or GL-6 performance levels.

SAE 80 GL-4

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil EP-80 is ideal for use in many classic vehicles where the manufacturers originally specified SAE 30 or 40 engine oils or SAE 80 or SAE 75W/85 EP gear oils for gearbox applications.

The advanced formulation maintains better frictional properties for improved synchromesh operation, making this product ideal for transmissions using bronze syncros including the ‘Aussie 4-Speed’ used extensively by Holden during the 70’s and 80’s.

The advanced formulation maintains good frictional properties for improved synchromesh operation, making this product ideal for manual transmissions.

EP-90 is ideal for use in final drives incorporating bevel, and spiral bevel gear sets as well as hypoid gear sets operating under moderate loads.

Application

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil EP-140 is ideal for use in many classic vehicles where the manufacturers originally specified SAE 140, 140 EP or SAE 85W/140 EP gear oils for gearbox and final drive applications.

EP-140 is ideal for use manual transmissions and final drives incorporating bevel, and spiral bevel gear sets as well as hypoid gear sets operating under moderate loads.

This product is not suitable for limited slip differentials or heavily loaded hypoid differentials and gearboxes requiring API GL-5 or GL-6 performance levels.

Classic Gear Oil LSD

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil LSD-90 and LSD-140 are proprietary blends of PARA-SYN® base oils and specifically engineered additives designed to deliver enhanced lubrication in classic muscle car final drives.

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil LSD-90 and LSD-140 incorporate highly refined and thermally stable PARA-SYN® base oils, with specially selected supplements to provide increased load carrying capacity to protect gears and bearings against scuffing and wear during severe operating conditions and provide excellent friction characteristics for a wide variety of friction materials utilised in plate type limited slip differentials.

The stay-in-grade viscosity and advanced formulation chemistry provides excellent protection in final drives operating under high load, high speed and high temperature conditions. LSD-90 and LSD-140 incorporate a special foam inhibitor to prevent the oil from foaming and flinging, providing more effective boundary lubrication. Additionally, corrosion inhibitors effectively protect ferrous metals of gears, shafts and bearings from corrosion, even when vehicles are garaged for extended periods.

LUBEALLOY Classic Gear Oil LSD-90 and LSD-140 are ideal for use in many classic vehicles with hypoid type final drives utilising ‘Positraction’, ’Powr-Lok’ and other plate type Limited Slip Differentials, as well as ‘TrueTrac’ and ‘Torsen’ torque biasing types. LSD-90 and LSD-140 are also suitable for open differentials and where the manufacturers originally specified SAE 90 or 80W/90 and SAE 140 or 85W/140 oils with API GL-5 and GL-6 performance levels for final drive applications.

Note: These products are not suitable in applications utilising “yellow metals” or  where GL-4 or lower performance levels are specified.
